Olympiacos posted a game announcement for their last match of the regular season in the Greek League against Promitheas Patras, thus will avoid relegation until further notice.

The Reds were initially expected to forfeit the game after referee Panagiotis Anastopoulos was selected in the officiating team. However, things changed as Anastopoulos informed the Referees Union and the Greek Basketball Federation that he will be unable to join the game, following an incident that took place last night, where nearly a hundred fans gathered outside his house while chanting swears against him.

Anastopoulos was one of the referees who called the Greek Cup semifinal game against Panathinaikos and Olympiacos. The latter left at halftime in protest and announced that “from now on the team won’t compete in any game of domestic competitions against any opponent if the game is officiated by referees Anastopoulos, Manos and Panagiotou”.

That being said, the game between the two teams is expected to take place as normal, since Anastopoulos was replaced.
