Earlier in the day, it was announced that Olympiacos will skip the Greek league playoffs matchup against Panathinaikos and Rick Pitino commented on this event with a humorous tweet.
“Not sure what to think anymore. I’m taking my team to Mykonos for practice. Our great GM, Manos, is treating. Thanks.”, was Pitino’s caption on a photo of himself with “tickets available” written on it.
On the other hand, Sean Kilpatrick didn’t seem to take the recent events as light-heartedly as Pitino.
“Had the whole Greek league going back and fourth to court, pushed the playoffs back weeks taking time away from coaches and players families all to decide that your not going to play Monday? I don’t blame you though, the league allowed it and let you guys get away with it. WOW!”, read his recent tweet after Olympiacos’ announcement.
Just for the record, the first game of the playoffs is already history for the rest of the Greek League clubs and here are the results of Round 1:
Promitheas – PAOK 81-86 (Mayer 16 p. – Chrisikopoulos 24 p.)
AEK – Holargos 84-62 (Hunter 16 p. – Love 12 p.)
Peristeri – Ifaistos 84-81 (Vasilopoulos 19 p. – Freimanis 16 p.)
