Panathinaikos parted ways with coach Argiris Pedoulakis and is searching for a replacement but that didn’t stop them from getting a convincing 107-71 home win against Ionikos in the Greek League.
Tyrese Rice led the way with 21 points while Dinos Mitoglou and Deshaun Thomas added 14 each. Mitoglou also grabbed ten boards.
Panathinaikos stayed the only undefeated team in the Greek League with seven wins while Ionikos holds a 4-3 record.
For Ionikos, Loukas Mavrokefalidis banked game-high 23 points in addition to Jamal Jones 16 points. Sofoklis Schortsanitis returned to action after 679 days and scored one point in less than ten minutes of playtime.
Panathinaikos was up 27-16 after ten minutes and 58-37 at halftime. They kept going after the break (82-49) and sealed the deal in the fourth quarter.
