Semih Erden of Dogus Darussafaka Istanbul talked to TBF site about his season, the upcoming pre-Olympic tournament and he also made the prediction that Fenerbahce will win the Euroleague!
With Darussafaka out of the Euroleague playoffs, Erden supports his former team and he is also ready for the challenge that the Turkish national team is going to face: “For our Turkey, for our National Team, and for my basketball we’re talking about a very important period. Competing in the Olympics is something that everyone wants. That’s why it’s up to us to work and prepare in the best way possible. I believe that we got on a very good track last year. As you know, last season the National Team went in a younger direction, and a really good result came out of it. There will definitely be some minor changes to this roster. This year we’re going to prep very well in a short period of time. Having such a short amount of time to prep is by no means an excuse for us. We’re going to the Philippines ready to win. After competing against Canada and Senegal, if we’re successful, we’ll match-up against group favorite France. It won’t be easy at all. Both Canada and Senegal have NBA players and other who have played in Europe, they’re strong teams. It’s going to be a high level of competitiveness. We want to come out on top. Hopefully we’ll sail out of there having won the right to play at the Olympics”
