Four days after the loss by Galatasaray in the Turkish derby, Fenerbahce beat Olympiacos and Bogdan Bogdanovic explains on Eurohoops how hard was for Zoc’ players the meantime between the two games.
One year ago Bogdan Baogdanovic chose to continue his career to Fenerbahce mainly due to Zeljko Obradovic and now he feels he made the right choice. However the “present” to him from his players on his birthday last Monday was far from perfect. Fenerbahce lost by Galatasaray which had only six players available in the roster. Αfter that Zoc was too hard with his players until the battle against Olympiacos.
“It matters that he’s happy now” said the Serbian talented guard laughing and added “he likes derbies and we lost so stupidly. It was a really bad loss for us. It was a very bad present for him”.
After that, the big victory vs Olympiacos was among others an “answer” to the loss by Galata? “Yes, the loss in the derby was hard and also these days were hard for us. We practiced hard and we played tougher and smarter after this defeat”.
The two wins of Fenerbahce on road against CSKA and Olympiacos “built our character. I think nobody expected these two victories at Moscow and Piraeus. We play really well without pressure. It was a tough task vs Olympiacos because we wanted to win also by more than 6 points. We made it and we have advantage for the first place” said Bogdanovic on Eurohoops.
Fenerbahce changed a lot its game during the last three months and every single player started to play harder defense and feel valuable in the offense. Among others, Bogdan Bogdanovic improved a lot, does a lot of things on the court and he’s not only a scorer but also a very good defender. As he admits “we struggled to find our roles in the beginning of the season. We caught up and we play very well as a team. We are a more balanced team now. Also we play much better in defence. When we found roles in the offence, it was easier for us to become better and better also in the defence”.
