Boris Diaw attended the Istanbul derby between Fenerbahce Beko and Anadolu Efes for Round 13 of Turkish Airlines EuroLeague and spoke to Eurohoops about the sensational Luka Doncic, managing the French NT, as well as the two Turkish rivals’ chances to win the EuroLeague title.
Doncic just posted a 41-point triple-double vs. the Pistons, though a few hours prior to that, Diaw told Eurohoops: “I think it’s very impressive what he is doing right now. Maybe only Dirk Nowitzki was doing things as he does. It’s really impressive”.
Diaw might have retired but never left basketball, as he now manages the French NT and for that, he traveled all the way to Istanbul. “That’s why I am in attendance of the game. There are a lot of French guys playing here, so it’s good, I enjoy it”.
The former NBA champion also shared his thoughts about the two Turkish teams being contenders for the EuroLeague title.
“They do have a chance to win. They are two good teams. The season is very long, it’s just the beginning, it’s not even New Year yet, but yes they have a chance”, he added.
