Venezia got the break in Game 3 of the Legabasket semifinals against Reggio Emilia and leads again with 2-1 wins in the series. The guests prevailed by 76-70 as they managed to stay in control despite the hosts’ come back.
At the end of the third quarter Venezia had a 61-49 lead, but Ojars Silins and Drake Diener with a 5-0 run made a three points game (73-70) in the last seconds. However that was the best Reggio could do. Phil Goss answered with two free throws (75-70) and the game was decided with Achille Polonara who had in total 14 points, missing the next shot for the hosts. Goss had 19 points for the winners and Hrvoje Peric was the top scorer with 22.
