Karsiyaka concluded the upset in the semifinals of TBL with Fenerbahce/ Ulker being the victim. Coach Ufuk Sarica and his players prevailed with 82-64 and after 28 years with 3-1 wins got the tickets to the finals, where Anadolu Efes is waiting.
The key in this game was the first half dominance of the hosts, who had a great crowd on their side and total focus. The end result was just 5 turnovers in 20 minutes and 11 more possessions as Karsiyaka build 41-30 lead. Fenerbahce tried to react in the third period but couldn’t do much. The hosts dominated the game and despite reaching the Euroleague final four, Fenerbahce’s season ended without any title.
Karsiyaka got even a 24 points lead (76-52) and Bobby Dixon led the way with 17 points, while Juan Palacios added 16. No player of Fenerbahce scored in double digits.
