Both Unicaja Malaga and Barcelona lost the chance to win the game in 40 minutes of action and the overtime belonged almost exclusively to the hosts. Unicaja got the 89-84 win (74-74) and cut the lead of Barca to 2-1 wins in Liga Endesa’s semifinals.
It was a game of pride for the winners who took something out of everyone who stepped on the court. In the end Carlos Suarez with 13 points, Ryan Toolson with some big shots (12 p.), Will Thomas (5 p., 5 r.) with two big plays in overtime and Stefan Markovic (7 p., 4 st.) with his energy were the best among equals.
DeShawn Thomas scored 17 points for Barcelona, which lost the rebounding battle (45-32), was forced to follow the slow tempo of Unicaja and in the end didn’t have enough concentration in overtime. Ante Tomic had 12 points on 2/7 shots and Juan Carlos Navarro didn’t score.
