After winning the Adriatic league and the Serbian cup, Crvena Zvezda also won the Serbian championship title by beating Partizan 58-54 in Game 3 and completing a 3-0 sweep.
It was the first championship title for Zvezda since 1998. The winners beat their arch-rival, ironically in Hala Pionir, home court of both teams and also the gym in which Partizan in recent seasons registered some of the biggest wins in its history.
However Serbian basketball is now clearly entering the era of Crvena Zvezda. Nikola Milutinov of Partizan was the top scorer of the game with 17 points, while Luka Mitrovic and Branko Lazic led the way for the champions with 13 points scored each.
Among the fans who attended the game was Hawks‘ Pero Antic, who celebrates one more title in Europe with one of his old teams after the Greek championship with Olympiacos.
