VEF Riga did what no other team could do so far in the season. Led by Donatas Zavackas (17 p.) the Latvian club beat Zalgiris Kaunas 77-72. On the other hand, CSKA (photo) did what it had to do against Nymburk (84-75) and now the team from Moscow is tied with Zalgiris on the top of the standings of Group B of VTB League. Both of them have a 4-1 record.
Spartak St.Petersburg was the only team that won on the road on Sunday by beating Azovmash 81-76 behind 30 points and 10 rebounds by Lukas Mavrokefalidis.
