Panathinaikos beat Ilisiakos, but the news of the day came from the press conference, where coach Argiris Pedoulakis denied any interest from the Greens towards Rasual Butler and confirmed the deal with Marcus Banks, at least for a try out

Panathinaikos beat Ilisiakos 101-49 in the last encounter of 5th gameday in Greek league and what happened off the court after the end of the 40 minutes on the court, was much more interesting. Dimitris Papanikolaou, former Panathinaikos player and coach of Ilisiakos, resigned because the situation in the club is like a “brothel”, as he said.

Panathinaikos coach Argiris Pedoulakis was asked about the possible new signings of his team and replied: “There is not truth on anything about Rasual Butler. He is not the guy that we need. We will have here Marcus Banks for a ten days try out and then maybe we will sign him. He hasn’t played basketball since last May”.

The interest of Panathinaikos about Rasual Butler was first reported by three different Greek media, among them the newspaper “Prasini” that belongs to the Greens’ owner Dimitris Giannakopoulos. After this win Panathinaikos has 3-2 record and shares the third place in a tie with KAOD, Kolossos, Rethymon and PAOK. Olympiacos and Panionios are still ubeaten and tied on the top.
