Real on top, Ivanovic fired from Caja

Real Madrid beat Manresa 97-84, remained undefeated and alone on the top of the standings, but the 8th gameday of Liga Endesa will be remembered for the firing of coach Dusko Ivanovic (photo) by Caja Laboral. The 77-68 home defeat by Blusens Monbus was the straw that broke the camel’s back.

According to the official press release of the club, the desicion was made in order for the team to “fight until the end for the Euroleague Top16 qualification”. Coach Ivanovic thanked everybody at the press conference for “almost 10 wonderfull years at Vitoria”.
