Lior Eliahu (photo) scored 20 points and Maccabi Tel Aviv beat Hapoel Tel Aviv in the local derby of Israel’s capital. The story of the game, however, is that Guy Pnini has been suspended by Maccabi until further notice and was stripped of captaincy after calling one of his opponents a “Nazi” in trash talk. After the 8th Lotto league gameday Maccabi Tel Aviv rests alone on top of the standings with a 7-1 record, followed by Maccabi Haifa (6-2).
