Bilbao Basket under the name of its new sponsor “Uxue” beat Blusens Monbus at home 81-70 in the first game of the 14th week of Liga Endesa. However the real news came after the end of the game. Bilbao’s president Predrag Savovic admitted that coach Fotis Katsikaris is going to be the new coach of the Russian NT as Eurohoops had exclusively reported and also that he will stay on the bench of his Spanish team. Katsikaris’ contract with the club has a special option for this case and in order to avoid the rule of Liga Endesa that forbids its coaches to be simultaneously on the helm of national teams, Katsikaris will be typically released by the team in the summer and renew his contract in the autumn.
