The couple of the cup final was decided on Friday in Turkey. Despite its bad results in Euroleague, Fenerbahce/ Ulker will have the chance to fight for the trophy after beating Besiktas 75-66. It was a relatively easy win after a partial score of 25-9 in the second quarter for Fener which will face in the final Galatasaray after beating Banvit in overtime (81-68) with Jamont Gordon scoring 29 points.
In Italy Sassari also needed an overtime in order to beat Brindisi (98-96) and qualify to semifinals after the big night of Drake Diener (photo) who scored 36 points on 8/14 three pointers. Sassari will face Siena, winner of the quarterfinal game against Reggio Emilia (82-73).
Last, but not least in Spanish “Copa Del Rey” Valencia destroyed Estudiantes (77-59) with Brazilian center Vitor Faverani scoring 23 points along with 11 rebounds. Its semifinal opponent will be Gran Canaria which got so far in the Spanish cup for the first time in its history after beating Bilbao 74-62.
