It’s not easy to be German in Euroleague. Despite their obvious progress, Alba Berlin (1-9) and Brose Baskets (0-10) are stuck in the bottom of group E and that couldn’t change against two teams with final four ambitions, like Anadolu Efes (8-2) and CSka Moscow (7-3).

  • In Berlin, Alba did fight and two minutes before the end of the game had the lead after a bucket by newcomer Ali Traore (83-81). But that was just the best the hosts could do against Anadolu Efes and Jordan Farmar (photo) who had 25 points and reacted to this lead with 5 straight points, giving the crucial edge to his team (86-83) and finally the 91-86 win. Dashaun Wood scored 24 points for Alba, but it was not enough.
  • In Bamberg, there were no thrills, as CSKA Moscow got the 78-58 win with relative ease. Hosts Brose Baskets try to get into the game in the first half, when they cut the lead of the Russians to four points (25-21) and then gave up as they couldn’t keep up. Nenad Krstic and Vladimir Micov had 17 points each for the winners.
