After three years of Brose Baskets dominance, Alba Berlin won the German Cup by beating Ulm in the final (85-67). Playing in “O2 World” of Berlin in front of its home crowd, Alba had a big game with Zach Morley being the MVP (24 p., 8 r.) and Deon Thompson adding 20 points.
In the third place game, Bayern Munich prevailed over Artlant Dragons (88-76) with Jared Homan (17 p., 9 r.) leading a balanced effort against the one man show of Bryce Taylor (28 p.). Bayern was the team that beat defending champions Brose Baskets in the quarterfinals and stopped its run of three straight cup titles.
