The final in Charleroi proved to be a really one sided affair. Bilbao after the 1st quarter was up 17-16, however in the half time Lokomotiv Kuban had already a 8 points lead (38-30), which reached even 20 points in the 34th minute (65-45) and the final score was a 75-64 win. The Spaniards tried their best, cutting the lead to seven points (67-60) 37 seconds before the end of the game, but that was not enough.

Lokomotiv got the Eurocup title and also the ticket to next season’s Euroleague behind a sensational game by Richard Hendrix (14 p., 9 r.) who got also the final MVP and also a huge night by Nick Calathes who had 10 points, 7 assists and 7 rebounds.

In the half time, during a television interview Euroleague CEO Jordi Bertomeu implied that it’s possible for Euroleague teams missing the Top16 to continue their season in Eurocup, starting from next season. It will be interesting to see if this can really happen
