The Russian championship, known at this age as the PBL league, had always CSKA Moscow (photo) as the favorite to win the title. So, for the 20th time the “army team” got the trophy after its 68-66 road win over Krasnye Krylia with Sonny Weems scoring the three pointer that decided the final score. CSKA with a 15-2 record secured the title, as the league season still goes on, but this time there are not play offs. With VTB United league getting the center stage in Russia, the future of PBL is at best murky since last summer.
