The first round of VTB League’s play offs has ended with Spartak being beaten two times at home by Nizhny Novgorod, which got the qualification to the second round. That was the only upset so far in the league and bitter end of the season for Spartak

The first round of VTB’s playoffs is completed and the season has ended for Spartak St. Petersburg. The team that last season has taken part in Eurocup’s Final Four was beaten by the surprise team of the league Nizhny Novgorod (photo) two times in St. Petersburg. After this upset the quarterfinal couples are the following (the teams written first have the home court advantage): Khimki – VEF Riga, CSKA Moscow – Krasnye Krylia, Zalgiris Kaunas – Nizhny Novgorod, Unics Kazan – Lokomotiv Kuban.
