The new season is coming and already in Germany and France the reigning champions were challenged and lost in their “Supercups”. On Saturday night German cup winner Alba Berlin beat champion Brose Baskets by a point (79-78) with former Maccabi Tel Aviv and Panathinaikos guard David Logan (photo) making the winning shot 5 seconds before the end of the game.
In France, on Wednesday it was cup winner Paris Levallois which beat Nanterre almost by a double digit point difference (81-72). The champions, however, used just a ten player roster due to their injury woes and have a good excuse for the final result.
