Like last year, when the favorite, Unics Kazan, didn’t get the qualification to Euroleague, an other Russian club which was considered the most possible team to qualify, lost the chance to play in this season’s competition after losing to Oostende.

The Belgian champions closed the game admirably, making five three point shots in their last six attempts and got the 90-79 win despite a monster game by Khimki center Paul Davis who had 32 points and 7 rebounds. However the Russians had in total just 5/22 three point shots and that was a key point in the game, specially compared to the 11/24 shots of Oostende. Ryan Thomspon had 19 points for the winners and Pierre Antoine Gillet made 16 points on 5/8 three point shots.

In the second game of the night, Turkish club Banvit prevailed over Czech champions Nymburk (87-78). Earl Rowland had a great game with 9 points and 13 assists, Keith Simmons was the top scorer with 16 points, while for the other side Tre Simmons did the best he could for the losing side with 27 points and 7 assists.
