The defending champions started the season in Italy with a smile as they won the “Supercoppa” against Varese. Daniel Hackett was the star of the night as he had 14 points, 6 rebounds and 10 assists in a game that was decided in the last quarter, as Siena scored 29 points in 10 minutes and got the 81-66 win.
Hackett got the MVP title and Siena celebrated the cup in front of its fans, as the game was held in the champions home court. Newly acquired Josh Carter was the top scorer of the team with 18 points, while Aubrey Coleman had 23 points for Varese.
