The season started for Maccabi Tel Aviv with one more title, as the team of coach David Blatt got the Winner Cup after beating Hapoel Jerusalem in the final. Despite missing Greek center Sofoklis Shortsanitis Maccabi got the 88-77 win as Sylven Landesberg scored 21 points and Devin Smith added 19 points.
For the losing side Josh Duncan had 20 points, but couldn’t help Hapoel react in the second half, when Maccabi Tel Aviv took the lead and never looked back. In the semifinals Maccabi Tel Aviv prevailed over Hapoel Eilat (85-65) and Hapoel Jerusalem beat Hapoel Holon 72-58.
