The season in VTB United league started midweek as Lokomotiv Kuban beat Kalev (88-74) and Minsk prevailed over VEF Riga on the road (89-83). However the first game for most teams was played during this weekend and defending champions CSKA Moscow got the win against VEF Riga (80-63) as Sasha Kaun scored 27 points and had 9 rebounds. However, Lokomotiv already has the lead in the standings as the only team with a 2-0 record.
