Despite being a new team, defending champions Siena in its first game for the season in Italy got the win by scoring almost 100 point and the main contender, EA7 Milano, was defeated on the road by Brindisi. Newcomers Kim English with 22 points and Josh Carter with 18 were the top scorers for the champs. Milano got 29 points by Keith Langford and 19 by David Moss, but not much from anyone else.
