Thursday was full of big games in Euroleague, but the win of Lietuvos Rytas against Greek powerhouse Panathinaikos overshadowed everything else. Fenerbahce/ Ulker, CSKA Moscow and Lokomotiv Kuban started their season with road wins

The first gameday of Eurolague is not completed yet, however we have already the result that will be remembered from the premier and it’s the overtime win of Lietuvos Rytas against Panathinaikos (84-83). The hosts who earned their spot in the Euroleague via the qualifying round, prevailed over the Greek powerhouse as Renaldas Seibutis scored 19 points and the winning shot.

An other favorite for the title, CSKA Moscow, played with fire, but managed to get the 62-59 road win against French champion Nanterre, while Fenerbahce/ Ulker needed an excellent fourth quarter with a partial score 31-7 in order to escape Budivelnyk (102-84). The Ukrainians were leading 77-71 at the end of the third quarter, but the last ten minutes were dominated by Zeljko Obradovic‘s team.

In Belgrade, Lokomotiv Kuban prevailed by three points over Crvena Zvezda (87-84) and in the rest of the games the hosts prevailed. Laboral Kutxa beat Maccabi Tel Aviv 84-80, Barcelona got the win over Partizan (67-60) and Anadolu Efes prevailed by 20 points over EA7 Milano (87-67).
