The year ends with a bang for Real Madrid after beating 98-84 Barcelona in their first meeting for Liga Endesa this season. It was a dominating performance with five players scoring in double digits led by Rudy Fernandez (18 p.). However once more Sergio Rodriguez was the “maestro” of this fine tuned offensive team by scoring 15 points and dishing 6 assists. Nikola Mirotic added 14 points on 5/7 shots and 6 rebounds.

Juan Carlos Navarro with 17 points was the top scorer of Barcelona, which didn’t get anything of essence from the new faces in the roster that were signed last summer. Joey Dorsey had 8 rebounds in 11 minutes and 3 points, Papanikolaou added 6 points, Nachbar has four points, while Pullen and Lampe were used for 3 and 1,5 minute respectively.

Real Madrid is still unbeaten this season after 25 games, setting a historical record for the club and keeping alive one of the longest winning streaks in European basketball history.
