The dynasty of Maccabi Tel Aviv continues in Israel as the “team of the people” won the Israeli Cup for the 41st time in its history by beating Hapoel Eilat (80-73). David Blu was the MVP of the game and scored 22 points, while Yogev Ohayon added 15 points.
It was the fifth straight win for Maccabi in a Israeli Cup final and a sign for things to come in the domestic competitions of Israel. Despite winning 50 Israeli league titles since 1954, Maccabi Tel Aviv lost the championship last season to Maccabi Haifa and of course coach Blatt and his players want to reclaim it.
