Siena will have the chance to win a sixth straight Italian cup against Dinamo Sassari in the final. Those two teams prevailed on Saturday’s semifinals with relatively easy wins against Brindisi and Reggio Emilia respectively.
Siena got the 89-80 win over Brindisi, despite 30 points by Jerome Dyson, thanks to its good 20-10 start at the first quarter. Brindisi cut Siena’s lead to one point (72-71) with four minutes left but that was the best it could do. Sassari thanks to Travis (26 p.) and Drake Diener (18 p.) overcome a 32 points performance by former Knick James White on the way to a 92-86 win against underdog Reggio Emilia.
