After beating Olympiacos in the semifinal, the job of Panathinaikos was expected to be easy in the final against Aris. That was the case, as the final score (90-53) demonstrates beyond any doubt. The partial score in the second half was 50-13 in favor of the Greens and after a competitive first half which ended in a tie (40-40) the Greek champions got what they wanted. Ramel Curry who scored 17 points, many of them in the first half when Panathinaikos even trailed on the scoreboard, was named the MVP of the game.
This was the tenth cup final for Dimitris Diamantidis who now owns the record for most appearances in a final, leaving behind him Fragkiskos Alvertis, Kostas Tsartsaris and Mike Batiste with nine finals appearances. It was the 15th Greek cup win in the history of the club.
