The Last32 phase of Eurocup ended in a crazy way. With Euroleague teams like Brose Baskets and Siena failing to get the qualification, the eightfinal couples of the competition (4-12 March) are the following: Nanterre-Budivelnik, TED Ankara-Khimik, Khimki-Valencia, Nizhny Novgorod-Besiktas, Hapoel Jerusalem-Ulm, Alba Berlin-Sassari, Unics-Nymburk, Lietuvos Rytas-Crvena Zvezda.
The craziest incident of the night came in Slovenia where the coach, GM and fans of Union Olimpija attacked the referees Luis Lopes, Carmelo Paternico and Oscar Perea after the win of Budivelnyk (87-83) enraged by their calls, despite the fact that the host team didn’t had any chance of qualification. As is turned out the man who punched one of the referees was Zoran Predin, a Slovenian pop signer who wrote the anthem of Eurobasket 2013.
Earlier in the day, as Eurohoops reported via twiiter, Unics Kazan announced the signing of Sergei Bykov who was released by Lokomotiv Kuban.
