In a thrilling game, during which 24.232 fans created a new Eurocup record for single game attendance in Belgrade’s Combank Arena, Crvena Zvezda beat in overtime (79-70, 63-60) Budivelnyk in the last quarterfinal game and got the ticket to the competition’s top four teams.
The semifinal couples are Crvena Zvezda – Unics Kazan and Nizhny – Valencia, as the Spaniards despite their defeat in Berlin got the qualification because of their first leg result. Charles Jenkins who had 29 points for Zvezda was the MVP of the night, as he scored 21 points in the last five minutes of regulation and in overtime. Under the new competition format the semifinals (1-9 April) and even the final will be decided in double encounters and not in a final four, or in a single game final.
