Playing at home court, Crvena Zvezda was the favorite to get to the Adriatic league final, but Cibona and Dario Saric had other plans. The Croatian club got the 75-70 win as NBA prospect Saric had 21 points and Jerel Blassingame was the top scorer of the winners with 28 points.
Cibona had the lead from the first quarter, enter the last period leading by 61-45 and despite a 10-0 run by Zvezda which made it a six points game (61-56) the Croats never trailed. The best the Serbs could do was get withinn four points (69-65) two minutes before the end, thanks to the stellar game of Slovenian Jaka Blazic (25 p.).
Saric scored 20 of his points in the first 30 minutes and he also had 15 rebounds, 6 assists and 5 turnovers. Blassingame also had 10 assists, but also 9 turnovers. Now Cibona will face on Sunday’s final the winner of Friday’s semifinal between Partizan and Cedevita.
