CSKA Moscow started impressively the first VTB league quarterfinal against Lokomotiv Kuban, by leading 20-6 after the first quarter, but in the end the guests got the 87-83 win and turned the tables against coach Messina’s unit.
Marcus Williams scored 22 points on 6/8 threes for the winners, while Derrick Brown added 20. Nenad Krstic with 16 points was the top scorer of CSKA, while Milos Teodosic and Sonny Weems added 12 points each. It’s a sign for concern as in exactly one week CSKA will play against Maccabi Tel Aviv in the Euroleague Final Four semifinal and both Viktor Khryapa and Aaron Jackson were injured during the game. The next contest between the two opponents is scheduled to be played tomorrow.
