Five days before the Final Four semifinal game against CSKA Moscow, Maccabi Tel Aviv qualified to the Israeli league’s semifinals after beating on the road Gilboa Galil 94-65 (3-1). With Sofoklis Shortsanitis being suspended and missing the game, Alex Tyus with 18 points was the top scorer and veteran David Blu added 17.
Big Sofo will be eligible to play in the league semifinals after his appeal and of course he will be ready for the Euroleague Final Four. The performance of Maccabi in the second half was a good sign for their chances in Milan.
