It was an ugly game with a low score, but at this point the result is all that matter. And Panathinaikos can be more than happy for the 59-56 win over Olympiacos in the first final of the Greek league, as the Greens shot just 1/20 three pointers.
Despite this number Olympiacos got the lead in the game for the first time five minutes before the end of it (51-50) and the score was tied at 53-53 with one minute left. However the Greens at their home court are much more confident than the Reds, they got a 59-53 lead and Olympiacos just cut the final points difference to three.
Jonas Maciulis with 15 points and the two pointer which made the score 55-53 was by far the most decisive player in this game. Stratos Perperoglou of Olympiacos had also 15 points, but made two crucial turnovers in the last minutes.
In the series for the 3rd place of the final standings, PAOK beat on the road Panionios (65-60) thanks to 21 points by Mark Payne.
