Olympiacos got a 2-1 lead in the Greek league finals and has the chance to get the championship title at home on Sunday after doing the unthinkable. For the first time ever the Reds managed to get the win at OAKA in the finals.

To be exact Olympiacos got a break back in the 1992-93 season, but Panathinaikos used at the time as its home court the gym of Glyfada. The final score was 69-64 as Printezis (13 p.), Petway (12 p.) and Spanoulis (14 p.) led a balanced offensive effort. Panathinaikos had a very hard time in offense for 30 minutes, cut the lead of Olympiacos to two (64-62) with one and a half minute left but couldn’t get any closer. Dimitris Diamantidis was the top scorer with 18 points and  the Greens have now their back against the wall.

In the third place series Panionios stayed alive by beating PAOK 75-57 (1-2). However what will be remembered from the game is that PAOK’s point guard D.J.Cooper attacked a fan in the standings – probably after being provoked – during half time and was ejected from the game. That incident is expected to lead to his suspension from the next games.
