Despite a monster effort by Jeremy Pargo, Flamengo beat Maccabi Tel Aviv by 13 points (90-77) in the second leg of the finals and won the intercontinental cup in Rio, Brazil. The Euroleague champions had a three points advantage from the first leg, but it was not enough. Flamengo won the trophy, which last season belonged to then Euroleague champion Olympiacos. It’s the fifth time in 27 intercontinental cup editions that the champions of Americas prevailed over the Europeans.

Argentinian Nicolas Laprovittola was the star of the winners with 24 points and six assists and also the MVP of the finals, while center Jerome Meyinsse added 22 points. Pargo did his best with 28 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists but he didn’t have any real help.
