The Italian champions lost the first chance for a title this season, as Sassari got the big win (96-88) in the Supercup final over EA7 Milano. Jerome Dyson was the MVP of the game, scoring 25 points for the winners and making key plays.
Sassari, a team which likes to run and shoot the three got into a great start with a 29-14 lead after the first quarter. Milano was trailing since then, made it a one point game (72-71) after the first possesion of the last period, but couldn’t get any closer as Sassari answered with a 9-0 run. Marshon Brooks scored 26 points for Milano and Linas Kleiza added 17. Τhe Supercup final four was hosted by Sassari and the club took advantage of the home court advantage the best possible way, getting their first ever Supercoppa.
