Big night for Fenerbahce, Barca prevails

Andrew Goudelock did it again! In clutch time he made the biggest shot of the game, giving a 76-71 lead to Fenerbahce/ Ulker on the way to a 77-74 win over EA7 Milano. Bayern tried hard, but couldn’t pull an upset on the road against Barcelona.

At Istanbul, Fenerbahce started the game on fire, getting a 26-15 lead after the first ten minutes. Milano reacted with a 10-0 run by Nicolo Melli and had a two points advantage at half time (43-41). The close fight continued until the last moment and the “bomb” of Goudelock who was the top scorer of the game with 19 points. Before that, Ricky Hickman also with a big three gave the lead back to Fenerbahce (71-69) with two minutes to go.

At Barcelona, Bayern Munich tried until the last minute to complete a great upset, but couldn’t finish it. The Germans with 31 seconds to go cut the lead of Barca to 79-76 and they had to foul in order to stop the clock. Justin Doellman – who scored 16 points in total – and Juan Carlos Navarro had 4/4 free throws and “locked” the win despite a lay up by Micic and a three by Schaffartzik who made the final score 83-81.
