Olympiacos needed overtime in order to win at Klaipeda and CSKA Moscow had to fight at Zagreb. Both teams remained perfect with a 3-0 record, but both flirted with disaster and specially the Reds prove to be also lucky in the 85-81 win.

Olympiacos had the chance by tooth and claw to win the game in regulation (76-76), but the last shot, attempted by Bryan Dunston far from his usual range, didn’t go in. In the end Brent Petway with 2/2 free throws sealed the win (84-81), after his rebound and 1/2 free throws by Νeptunas’ Mustafa Shakur. Still, the player who was the saving grace of Olympiacos was Vasilis Spanoulis in a big night with 34 points – his personal best in Euroleague – and 7 assists. With a total of 2450 points he became the 5th leading scorer in Euroleague’s history, surpassing Nikola Vujicic (2416).

CSKA Moscow for 33 minutes felt the pressure of Cedevita. The Croatians had the 39-36 half time lead and were trailing by one point (56-55) at the start of the last period, but a 14-2 run (70-57) with Milos Teodosic leading the charge decided the outcome. The hosts couldn’t get back into striking distance, but they managed to get closer in the final 76-72 in favor of CSKA Moscow. Τhis game also marked the debut of Nando De Colo with the jersey of CSKA.
