Upset night for Turow, Zalgiris, Cedevita

Zalgris Kaunas and Turow defended their home courts and by doing so, they got two big wins over Unics Kazan and Bayern Munich respectively. This was the first ever Euroleague win for the Polish champions, a huge blow for Bayern and on top of that Cedevita got its first win for the season on the road over Maccabi Tel Aviv.

The final score was 89-78 for Turow. Thanks to a great finish in the third quarter and three consecutive three pointers, the hosts got a 70-59 lead, the first ever in double digits for the game. The best Bayern could after that was to get within 6 points (82-76) 1,5 minute before the final buzzer. For the winners Damian Kulig continued his streak of good games with 22 points and 6 rebounds.

At Kaunas after a hard fought game Zalgiris got the 77-71 win over Unics Kazan. The man of the match was above any competition James Anderson who had 27 points, 11 rebounds, 4 assists and 3 steals. Keith Langford also scored 24 points for the losing side but they weren’t enough.

In Tel Aviv, the defending champions were defeated 83-73 by Cedevita. The Croatians produced probably their best basketball so far in the season and ended the third quarter leading by 11 points (68-57). With Jeremy Pargo scoring in total 24 points, Maccabi made the came back and got into striking distance (73-71) with 3,5 minutes left. However the end of the game belonged to the guests and their 10-2 run with Roko Ukic scoring five of those points on the way to 17 in total.
