Olympiacos survived Valencia

Being with their back against the wall, the players of Valencia reacted but in the end couldn’t became the first team to beat Olympiacos this season in Euroleague. The Reds remained perfect after getting a valuable 77-76 win at Piraeus.

A 13-0 run by the Spaniards between the third and the fourth quarter gave them a double digits lead (54-64), but the hosts with their own 8-0 run got the lead back (71-70) with three minutes to go. In the remaining time the two teams exchanged free throws, two  by Lucic (72-71) and two by Sloukas (73-72), threes by Bojan Dubljevic (75-73) and Vasilis Spanoulis (76-75) and with 25 seconds to go Pau Ribas with 1/2 free throws tied the score at 76. Spanoulis got fouled, he made 1/2 free throws (77-76) and Nemanja Nedovic in his debut with his new team missed the last shot and the chance to be the hero of the night. Spanoulis with 15 points was the top scorer of the winners, Dubljevic had 18 for Valencia.
