Unics and Baskonia back in the race

Unics Kazan is back in the Top16 race after beating Real in Madrid and the same applies to Laboral Kutxa after becoming the first team to beat Olympiacos this season in Euroleague.

Thanks to Curtis Jerrells (23 p., 8 r., 5 as.) and D’Or Fisher (25 p., 8 r., 5 bl.) Unics shocked Real with a 26-15 third quarter partial score which essentially decided the game. The guests in the end got the 85-75 win without feeling any real pressure as the hosts proved to be unexpectedly mediocre on both ends of the floor. With out a doubt this was the best game of Unics so far in the season and that also applies personally to Jerrells.

Ιn Vitoria, Vasilis Spanoulis became the fourth leading all time scorer in Euroleague, surpassing his former teammate Mike Batiste and also the fourth player in the history of the league who reached the milestone of 2.500 points – he has 2.522 to be exact – but Laboral Kutxa beat Olympiacos (89-70). The game was almost identical with the one in Madrid, as it was decided with a 24-15 third quarter for the hosts. The Reds couldn’t react after that and Laboral Kutxa became also the first team to score 25.000 points in Euroleague.
