Limoges still alive, Maccabi in Top16

Maccabi Tel Aviv with a great finish got the 95-89 win over Alba Berlin and the ticket to Top16. The same applies to Unicaja. Meanwhile the Germans and Limoges after beating the Spaniards (67-64) are still in the race for the last open spot.

In Tel Aviv, Alba Berlin was leading with four points (76-72) and 6,5 minutes left. That proved to be the turning point of a close game with the champs finishing it with a 23-13 partial score. The guest fought until the end, the score with 35 seconds to go was 91-87 for Maccabi but Alba couldn’t get any closer. The duo of Devin Smith (26 p.) and Bryan Randle (21 p.) were the leaders of the winners.

Unicaja had the road game against Limoges under control during the first half (34-21). However the hosts reacted with a 22-12 partial score in the third quarter and in the end got the big win. Jamar Smith gave to Limoges the 63-61 lead with 59 seconds to go, Ryan Toolson and Jayson Granger missed the next two shots, Andrien Moerman with 2/2 free throws made the score 65-61 and with 10 seconds to go Toolson cut the lead of Limoges to one point with a three (65-64). Nobel Boungou-Colo was fouled with seven seconds left, he made his free throws (67-64) and Unicaja couldn’t score again. Smith with 18 points and 4/8 threes was the hero of the game. Still Unicaja despite the defeat, also got the ticket to Top16.
