After Real Madrid, also Olympiacos is no longer unbeaten as Anadolu Efes of coach Dusan Ivkovic beat the Reds. On the contrary the Reds of Belgrade, Crvena Zvezda, got their first ever Top16 win with Alba Berlin being the victim.

Boban Marjanovic was his monster self for the first time in Top16, defense was once again clicking and the result was a 86-69 win for Crvena Zvezda. The hosts led by ten points (22-12) after the first quarter and kept their distance until the end with Marjanovic having a double double (17 p., 12 r.) and Charles Jenkins being a factor with 12 points. Alba couldn’t stop the rythm of the Serbs in any point.

In Istanbul, Olympiacos was leading with three after the first 20 minutes (40-37) despite getting just two free throws by Vasilis Spanoulis. In the end Spanoulis couldn’t do more, as he was contained by Anadolu Efes‘ defense and the hosts got the 84-70 win. The final margin of victory was decided in the fourth quarter with Efes having a 27-18 advantage, the front line of Krstic (13 p.) and Lasme (12 p.) doing damage and Dontaye Draper being the top scorer (14 p.) and top perimeter defender of the winners.
