Despite playing only with Justin Carter, Sinan Guler, Vladimir Micov, Zoran Erceg, Patrick Young and Kerem Gonlum, Galatasaray got the 92-88 win over Fenerbahce/ Ulker and changed the status quo of the Turkish league. Guler scored 25 points for the winners, Zoran Erceg added 26, while coach Ergin Ataman wasn’t sitting on the bench because he was suspended and the duo of Pocius and Arslan was injured.
Fenerbahce’s coach, Zeljko Obradovic said after the game: “My players are selfish. They’re thinking themselves. It’s not my problem. If they don’t have the motivation, they’ll go. Galatasaray deserved it. We were terrible at defence. They were playing with 6 players but they wanted it more”.
Fenerbahce is now tied against with Anadolu Efes on the top spot of TBL with a 16-5 record, followed by Darussafaka (15-6), Karsiyaka is fourth (13-8) and in the fifth place Galatasaray is tied with Banvit (12-9).
