Eurohoops aims to bring you all domestic league action all weekend long (and not just then) – Just hover over the national championships section on the top of the page to pick your favorite league.
And during the last few days, a lot of big performances were registered all over the old continent and not by the names that you might expect to hear.
Sylven Landesberg (Turk Telekom – BSL)
He is the exception of this list since anyone in Europe knows that he really can score. This time he had 35 points in 38 minutes of action, shooting more than 75% from the field (9/12 2p. 4/5 3p.) and strangely enough he missed two free throws (5/7). Add five rebounds, four assists, and four turnovers as Turk Telekom got the 93-86 over Bahcesehir for a solid 4-3 record in the more than competitive Turkish BSL.
Tim Blue (Antibes – Jeep Elite)
Tim Blue needed 33 minutes on the court in order to score 33 points (11/15 FRG) and he also had nine rebounds and three assists for a total ranking of 39. He is synonymous with the French club since he plays for them since 2012 when the team was playing in the French second division. He has won the French cup back in 2015 and once more he demonstrated why he is the most important player of the team.
L.J.Peak (Pistoia – Seria A Legabasket)
That’s a pretty interesting case. He is just 22 years old and he had a breakout game with 38 points, leading Pistoia to the 113-111 win over Sassari. The former Georgetown player shot almost 60% from the field and also had six rebounds and three assists. He made the crucial free throws that sealed the deal for his team and his future seems bright.
John Roberson (Enisey – VTB League)
John Roberson is the only player in the list that didn’t score 30, but he had 25 points, nine assists and four steals in Enisey’s home win over Zielona Gora (109-81). It was the best game of the season yet for the 30 years old guard who left France after spending two seasons with Chalon and last year with ASVEL and seems capable to lead his new team to the playoffs of the highly competitive VTB United League.
Bryant Crawford (Hapoel Gilboa Galil – Winner League)
He is the only guy in this list that did not get the win this weekend, but he has led Hapoel Gilboa Galil to back-to-back wins over local powers Hapoel Jerusalem and Maccabi FOX Tel Aviv. That’s why despite the 112-106 home defeat by Holon, the two teams have the same 5-2 record and share the top of the standings. Crawford, a rookie from Wake Forest, had an amazing performance with 35 points (10/19 FG) and also 11/12 FT, eight assists and five rebounds. It’s seems that his pro career is starting with a bang.
